Call of the Mountain Expansion
002.
Deck Construction — Discovered Deck
Extends Core Rule 103 — Deck Construction.
002.1.To play Riftbound with Call of the Mountain expansion cards, a player's deck may optionally include a Discovered Deck in addition to their Main Deck, Rune Deck, Champion Legend, and Battlefields.
002.1.a.The Discovered Deck must contain exactly 20 cards, each possessing the static [Discovered] keyword.
002.1.b.A Discovered Deck can include only 1 copy of each named Discovered card.
002.1.c.Cards included in the Discovered Deck must abide by the player's Domain Identity dictated by their Champion Legend.
002.1.d.Cards in the Discovered Deck share the same card back pattern as Main Deck cards. To prevent game-state errors, the Discovered Deck must be kept physically separated from the Main Deck and Rune Deck during physical setup.
003.
Non-Board Zones — Discovered Deck & Discovered Trash
Extends Core Rule 108 — Non-Board Zones.
003.1.Discovered Deck Zone
003.1.a.Each player has their own Discovered Deck Zone.
003.1.b.This zone houses the player's facedown Discovered Deck during gameplay.
003.1.c.The order of cards in a Discovered Deck is Secret Information. Players cannot look at, reveal, or otherwise inspect cards in their Discovered Deck except as instructed by a Game Effect.
003.2.Discovered Trash Zone
003.2.a.Each player has their own Discovered Trash Zone.
003.2.b.The Discovered Trash Zone is a public zone for cards revealed from that player's Discovered Deck that are not selected during Discover.
003.2.c.Cards in the Discovered Trash are unordered, public information, and may be reorganized.
003.2.d.General Game Effects that refer to a player's Trash refer only to that player's Main Trash. They do not refer to that player's Discovered Trash unless the effect specifically refers to Discovered Trash.
003.2.e.Once a card from the Discovered Deck is put into a player's Hand, it is treated as a normal card in that Hand. If it is subsequently discarded, played and sent to Trash, or otherwise moved to another zone, it is moved according to the normal rules for that zone and is no longer in the Discovered Trash.
004.
Discover
004.1.Discover is a Game Action that allows a player to access cards from their Discovered Deck.
004.2.Discover is formatted as "Discover a [Quality] card."
004.3.To Discover a [Quality] card, the player performs the following instructions in order:
004.3.a.Reveal the top 3 cards of their Discovered Deck.
004.3.b.The player may choose up to one revealed card matching the specified [Quality] and put it into their Hand.
004.3.c.Put all other revealed cards into their Discovered Trash.
004.4.If the player cannot reveal 3 cards from their Discovered Deck, they perform Discovered Deck Refilling before continuing to reveal cards. See Homebrew Rule 006.
004.5.If the player is unable to reveal 3 cards even after Discovered Deck Refilling, they continue Discovering with as many cards as were revealed.
004.6.If no revealed card matches the specified [Quality], the player does not put a card into their Hand and puts all revealed cards into their Discovered Trash.
005.
Discovered
005.1.[Discovered] is a static deckbuilding restriction Keyword.
005.2.A card with [Discovered] cannot be included in a player's Main Deck or Rune Deck. It must begin the game in that player's Discovered Deck.
005.3.A card without [Discovered] cannot be included in a Discovered Deck.
005.4.[Discovered] does not restrict how a card may be played or otherwise used after it has left the Discovered Deck.
006.
Discovered Deck Refilling
Similar to Core Rule 431 — Burn Out.
006.1.Discovered Deck Refilling is a process used when a Game Effect requires a player to reveal cards from their Discovered Deck and there are fewer cards remaining in that deck than required.
006.2.To perform Discovered Deck Refilling:
006.2.a.Reveal all remaining cards in the Discovered Deck and pause the Game Effect that caused the Refilling.
006.2.b.Recycle all cards in that player's Discovered Trash into their Discovered Deck. The cards must be randomized.
006.2.c.Resume the paused Game Effect and reveal the remaining cards required by that effect.
006.3.If the Discovered Trash contains no cards, or contains too few cards to refill the Discovered Deck sufficiently, the player reveals as many cards as are available and continues resolving the Game Effect.
006.4.Discovered Deck Refilling does not cause a player to gain a point and cannot cause a player to win or lose the game.
Example: A player Discovers with only 1 card remaining in their Discovered Deck. They reveal that card and pause Discover. They then Recycle their Discovered Trash into their Discovered Deck and randomize those cards. They resume Discover and reveal 2 more cards, completing the 3-card reveal.
010.
Amendments to Core Rules
011.
Amendment to Core Rule 052 (Silver Rule)
Amends Core Rule 052 — Silver Rule.
011.1.Core Rule 052 defines "card," when written in card effects, as shorthand for Main Deck card. Under the Call of the Mountain expansion, Discovered Deck cards are also considered cards for this purpose. Runes, legends, and battlefields remain excluded, per the original rule.

Frequently Asked Questions
021.Q: If I use Cemetery Attendant ("When you play me, return a unit from your trash to your hand"), can I return a binned Celestial unit from my Discovered Trash?
A: No. Under Core Rule 052 (Silver Rule, as amended by Homebrew Rule 011.1) and Homebrew Rule 003.2.d, general text mentioning "trash" refers strictly to your standard Main Deck Trash. Because the Discovered Trash is a separate, specialized non-board zone, general Main Trash recursion cards cannot interact with it.
022.Q: If a card effect allows me to "play a card from my hand, ignoring its cost," can I play a Celestial card that I added to my hand via Discover?
A: Yes. Once a Celestial card is placed into your hand, it is treated as a card in your hand. It is a legal object for any general effects targeting or acting upon cards in hand.
023.Q: What happens if my Discovered Deck runs out of cards? Do I lose?
A: No. Unlike drawing from an empty Main Deck, running out of cards in your Discovered Deck has no automatic lose condition. If your Discovered Deck has fewer than 3 cards when you Discover, you reveal as many cards as are available, pause, and Recycle your Discovered Trash into your Discovered Deck (see Homebrew Rule 006 — Discovered Deck Refilling), then reveal the rest needed to continue Discovering as normal. Only if your Discovered Trash is also empty will you end up looking at fewer than 3 cards, and if both zones are empty, you look at 0 cards, no cost is paid, and the effect does nothing. See Core Rule 055.
